“Between me and life is a faint glass. No matter how sharply I see and understand life, I cannot touch it” (Fernando Pessoa).

When I try to understand the world around me, incoherent images and words that appear in my mind, remain incoherent. The very idea that coherence exists – that behind the glass descriped by Pessoa, interchangeable also described as ‘fog’ – there is a reality that can be captured, is absurd. Wandering through this fog, however, can be pleasant and, trying to make the absurd less absurd, addictive.

Photography enables me to find a certain calmth in this labyrinth of words and images, and the world they try to unravel: The world of people, nature. It helps me transform the fog into something concrete, something visibile. It is as if through a lense, I can see life sharper, and I can almost touch the untouchable.

All of this for a little bit of understanding. Of others, of myself.
